It was a star studded night Friday in downtown Lafayette for the Ky Cares All-Star Gala. The event kicked off around 7:00 p.m., complete with a red carpet, silent auction, live jazz and mingling with various football stars.

The benefit gala was put on by football player and Eunice native Kyries Hebert as part of his foundation that helps young kids in Acadiana. From Terrell Owens to Roman Harper, Hebert's former and current teammates were on board to take part in the Ky Cares Foundation.

"Everybody that's in attendance here is definitely in support of what he's doing. I think it's a positive thing, definitely just giving back to the community," said NFL player Terrell Owens.

The football stars, along with professional dance teams and cheerleaders, will team up with Hebert this weekend for the Ky Cares camp in Eunice.

"You never know how much you can affect a kids life by just going out there spending a little bit of time with them, teaching them and just talking to them," said NFL player Roman Harper.

Over 400 kids from across Acadiana will attend the Ky Cares All Star Weekend camp. They'll get to learn and play alongside the pros as they learn about leadership and skills on and off the field.

"We get to do something in their lives that's going to make a difference for them to take and go on in their life with, beyond the football field or beyond cheer and dance," said Hebert.
