From our ABC Affiliate (KOCO): An armed escapee from Louisiana was arrested near Davis on Wednesday after a pursuit along Interstate 35, troopers said. U.S. marshals say Brian Keith Soileau had escaped from a facility in Evangeline Parish, La., on Oct. 13. He was facing a life sentence and is also a suspect in a bank robbery that happened Wednesday in Texas.
According to an OHP spokesperson, Soileau was driving 95 mph going the wrong way along I-35 in McClain County. He was headed south in the northbound lanes, troopers said.
Troopers tried to use a tactical vehicle intervention but said the suspect, Soileau, was crashing into them and running them off the road. The spokesperson said that a trooper fired shots at Soileau's truck, a GMC Sierra, leaving three bullet holes in his back window.
Soileau may have wounded, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokeswoman. After he was arrested near Davis, he was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Troopers said the suspect drove approximately 30 miles along the interstate going the wrong way.
