It's a project local architect Everette Mays has been working on since 2006. A new shopping center along one of the busiest streets in Lafayette that's finally beginning to take shape..
"The process was first of all a client approaching me and having this vision putting this type of facility here." said Architect Everette Mays.
The new 1.2 million dollar 8200 square foot facility will house a smoothie shop, pizza parlor, a deli, and a local retail shops.
"We have them broken up into 1,000 sq. foot areas, with the last tenant potentially being the largest at 1826 square foot."
With the high traffic on Verot School Rd., Mays expects business at the new shopping center to be brisk, attracting business not only from Lafayette, but from Youngsville, Erath, and Milton.
"Very high traffic count, lot of visibility, and potential customer base for this retail center."
Mays says the shopping centers location will offer convienient, easy, access for customers.
"The opportunities are very good here for success with a new retail type establishment."
The new Verot Village Shopping Center is set to open this summer.
