Another development breaks ground in Youngsville Wednesday. The Fortune Hills Subdivision off Bonin Rd. is just the latest development to pop-up in the Lafayette suburb called the "fastest- growing city" in Louisiana.

Drew Naquin moved to Youngsville five-years ago.

"You can see the growth in the city since I've been here," Naquin said.

Youngsville is called one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. Naquin says that's a good title for his town to carry.

"It's something to be proud of," Naquin said. "It's not the only thing; I like the people, I like living here."

What started off as a small farming community inexplicably began to boom in the 1990's, tripling in size.
Then, in the last decade, Youngsville doubled in size and the city is still growing.

"It's probably the fastest, most aggressive city in the state of Louisiana," Mayor Wilson Viator said.

Mayor Viator says the city's progress gives residents opportunity. Not only are more homes and businesses sprouting, but the city is building new roads and the next project:
A sports complex.

"We're forward-thinking," Viator said. "We're looking ahead."

For residents like Naquin, that forward thinking is what the homeowner is looking for making youngsville a hot attraction.

"It's a good little town to grow up in," Naquin said.
