The University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus community now has an easy way to stay safe.
This week, UL released Rave Guardian, a smartphone application designed to act as a virtual escort, allowing users to set a timer and choose a guardian to let them know they are going from point A to point B. If the timer expires and isn't disabled, the guardian can check in on the user. The app also features a panic button connecting them to 911 or university police and an anonymous tips line.
The app is available to anyone with an with an iPhone. Users can find the app by searching 'Rave Guardian' in the app store.
