MONROE, La. (AP) - An official at a Ruston hospital for long-term, acute-care patients says its new owners are keeping all 278 workers there and at satellite locations in Farmerville and Homer.
LifeCare Holdings of Plano, Texas, closed a deal to buy North Louisiana Specialty Hospital this week.
Director of business development Donna Bernard told The News-Star of Monroe on Wednesday that the purchase is for the newly named Life-Care Speciality Hospital of North Louisiana. She says it is now part of a company whose only focus is the same as the hospital's.
The Ruston hospital was among seven facilities that LifeCare bought for $117.5 million from HealthSouth Corp. of Birmingham, Ala.
