As a part of a tour of schools across Louisiana, state Rep. Karen Carter Peterson (D-District 93-New Orleans) along with representatives from the Scott S. Cowen Institute for Public Education Initiatives at Tulane, made several stops in Acadiana today.

The delegation visited Green T. Linden Elementary in Younsville and L.J. Alleman Middle School in Lafayette.  Carter Peterson and state Sen. Cheryl Gray Evans (D-District 5-New Orleans) have worked to improve failing conditions in schools.  It's a problem Carter Peterson says is a state-wide issue.

"We're all in this together, Louisiana citizens and our young people deserve better, safer school environments," Rep. Carter Peterson said.
