RUSTON, La. (AP) - A second movie theater is coming to Ruston.
The Daily Leader reports that St. Cloud, Minn., based United Entertainment Corp. is buying 7.8 acres of land to develop a new nine-screen, all-digital movie theater.
Chief operating officer Michael Ross says work could begin by the end of this month, and the company hopes to open the theater by Christmas. He says it will bring 20 to 30 full- and part-time jobs.
Ruston's eight-screen movie house is owned by Celebrity Theatres, which also owns theaters in Baton Rouge and Broussard.
Ross says the new Ruston theater will show 3-D movies and will have leather high back rocking chairs with retractable arm rests.
