In Baton Rouge, scientists released a new map Thursday that shows the amount of land wiped away on the Louisiana coastline.
The map will help scientists locate exactly where land is breaking apart to help them identify where coastal restoration is needed.
In the past 78 years scientists say coastal Louisiana has lost wetlands the size of Delaware.
Researchers say more than a football field of land is lost every hour along Louisiana's coast.
Scientists say losing this amount of land hurts the state's economy.
