The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Human Services Department, in conjunction with the Louisiana State Department of Education, launched its Family Day Care Home Food Program today. The program helps those who provide child care in their homes pay for the cost of feeding the children two meals and a snack for each day of day care. The day care provider must be approved for participation in the program.
Any resident of Calcasieu, Allen, Jefferson Davis and Beauregard Parishes are eligible to participate in the program if they are currently providing child care services to children from birth to twelve years of age in their home and their home meets fire and safety standards as established by the State of Louisiana. If you would like to participate in the program call Glory Callihan in our Human Services Department at 337-721-4030.
All children in attendance will be offered the same meals at no separate charge and with no physical segregation of or other discrimination against any child because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal, and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familiarity or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Department. (Not all prohibited bases will apply to all programs and/or employment activities.)
