Jennings Police Chief Johnny Lassister is no longer the top cop in the city. At a media conference this morning at Jennings City Hall, Mayor Terry Duhon announced a change in leadership.
He named Todd D'Albor interim chief. D'Albor arrives at Jennings from an administrative position with the St. Martinville Police Department.
D'Albor will go through a 90 day civil process and the job assignment will not become official until the completion of a test.
Lassiter also attended Friday's media conference. He tells KATC, he wanted to step down for personal reasons.
D'Albor will start the job on Monday, Lassister will stay on with department, but he is unsure of his new title. That will be decided by the new chief.
