Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office has released new information on the human remains found July 4 off of Leland Road in Henderson. Investigators say when they recovered the remains, they were sent to the LSU Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services Laboratory in Baton Rouge for further verification. At the time of the discovery, investigators say the remains had probably been unearthed and exposed for an extended period of time.
According to the lab report, the remains were from an adult male and female that more than likely originated from disturbed graves from a cemetary, and that they were over ten years old. Investigators say there was no information provided that linked the remains to any current missing persons in St. Martin Parish, but investigators are trying to determine how the remains got to Leland Road where they were discovered.
