New Iberia Teen Arrested for Simple Arson

A New Iberia man is arrested for simple arson.
An Iberia Parish Deputy arrested Traven Phillips, 19, for starting a small fire in front of a local business. He was arrested November 7, at approximately 09:26 p.m.
The fire was set in front of Menard Brothers in the 900 block of East Dale Street.
According to the deputy, the teen used newspapers from a Daily Iberian paper box which was in the Menard Brothers parking lot.
Phillips was transported to the Iberia Parish Jail where he was booked in for simple arson.
