New Iberia's Spice All-Stars competes for Dreams Come True charity

New Iberia's own Paige's Dance and Cheer Studio's (PDCS) Spice All-Stars fielded eight teams at the 9th annual Kickin it for Kids Charity Cheer and Dance Competition on the Southeastern Louisiana University campus in Hammond, La.

Each gym's entrants were required to raise money for a charity in order to compete in the event, hosted by Spirit Professionals. The Spice All-Stars selected the charity Dreams Come True of Louisiana (DCT), which was founded for the sole purpose of providing dreams to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Recently one of the Spice All-Stars participants younger sister, who was a dancer at PDCS, was able to receive benefits from this organization and the Spice All-Stars wanted to give back as a thank you for all they do for the children of Louisiana. The PDCS Spice All-Stars were awarded a recognition for the organization that donated the most and their total donation amount was $6,000.

PDCS athletes on these teams earned two Overall Division Championships, six 1st place awards, and one 2nd place award for their performances.

PDCS dancers' next competition will be for the Worldwide Spirit Association's(WSA) Grand Beach Nationals in Destin, Florida at the end of March.
