New Iberia Robbery Leaves One Dead

NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies say an
attempted robbery in the parking lot of a New Iberia grocery store
has left one man dead.
Lt. Ryan Turner said deputies received a call around 9:10 p.m.
Monday about a shooting at D&K Grocery.
Turner says the unidentified victim was shot several times and
taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies believe the victim was attempting to enter his vehicle
when he was approached by two men. Turner said one of the men
attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint.
He said the victim tried to escape and was shot.
