The Public Works Department of the City of New Iberia will conduct a City wide cleanup beginning on February 27th. All yard and light construction waste, household furniture and car tires (rims removed) not picked up by Gordon's Disposal on their regular pick up day will be collected by Public Works the following day. This will be the sequence of all waste pickup: your regular Allied household garbage pickup is on one day; Gordon's regular service to you is the following day. That means Public Works will collect all other non-household debris on the third day. This service will be provided from February 27th until March 2nd. Materials should be placed parallel to the street, at curbside. Do not mix your yard or construction waste with household garbage. Items that will NOT be collected are hazardous materials, paint cans (unless lids are removed and all paint is dry), and car batteries. All hazardous household waste can be brought to Public Works on our special collection day, March 10th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Public Works Facility is located at 1303 J. Allen Daigre Drive.
