A 41-year-old New Iberia man is accused of cyber stalking and violating a protective order.
According to Sheriff Louis Ackal, on November 24, 2013, Iberia Parish detectives arrested Corey Ronsonet for cyber stalking and violation of a protective order. Detectives conducted an investigation involving the incident and were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Ronsonet. Detectives also executed two search warrants that were a result of the investigation. During the search detectives located a firearm with obliterated serial numbers, according to Ackal. Ronsonet had been released from jail on the 24th on a $50,000.00 bond.
On November 25, 2013, Ronsonet was arrested again for other warrants issued by detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office. Those warrants included possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers, criminal damage to property over $500, theft over $500 and obstruction of justice. Ronsonet was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail where he is currently being held.
