For Danny and Jennifer Grisaffe each Christmas season begins by getting their flower shop ready and then heading down to the parade.
"Every year it's been a tradition for quite a while. My wife's been there for 26 years, and that's the main thing. Get the shop decorated, get the parade kicked off. Then we're off for the holidays,"
Danny's wife Jennifer says new ornaments were put up this year within the city. Driving down the street with everything lit up, sets the tone for the weeks ahead.
"It almost means like the beginning of Christmas. It's like the spirits not there until you come to the parade," Jennifer Grisaffe said.
Even with all the candy for the kids and high school bands playing their favorite tunes; no parade is complete with out the appearance of Old Saint Nick.
"Once the parade kicks it off then the holidays follow right after. It's always like the kickoff for it," Danny Grisaffe said.
