A woman speaking out tonight after being terrorized in her own home, she's says she fears for her life, even though the man responsbile is behind bars at news time.
She says she's afraid his family will retaliate.
Our top story tonight is in New Iberia---KATC's Mike Magnoli has the details of the story you'll only see here on TV-3.
"We're still getting threatening phone calls, I've gone so far as to get a gun,"
This woman has agreed to tell us her story, but she asks we not identify her, say where she lives or show her face.
"It's terrible when you walk out the door afraid you're about to get shot."
On Saturday night this woman was in this trailer with family and friends- among the group three children. The sheriff's office says this man, 22 year old Aquilla Thomas came to the trailer and argued with his girlfriend...tempers flare and gunfire erupts. The Sheriff's office says Thomas won't leave the property and he shoots at the mobile home.
"I can't believe he would do this when he knows there are children inside," our source tells us.
Deputies say they pulled 16 shells from the side and front of the trailer, --two bullet holes are easily spotted.
Later, thomas was arrested at his house. He's now facing a slew of charges including Attempted Second Degree Murder, illegal use of weapons--and we've learned he's a convicted felon.
Lt Ryan Turner tells us, "Within the past four to five years he attempted to disarm a police officer and armed robbery."
Thomas is in custody but our source says his relatives and friends have been passing by, menacing-- she says deputies need to keep watch of the trailer, so there's no act of revenge. Thomas is facing serious prison time again because of what happened here Saturday night.
