New Iberia driver booked in pedestrian's death

Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested a driver in the death of a man struck Wednesday night as he walked on Bull Island Road.
Lt. Jeremy Kelly said in a news release received by The Advocate 24-year-old Jeremy Picard, of New Iberia, was booked Thursday on one count of driving while under suspension,
The victim, 51-year-old Larry Alleman, also of New Iberia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kelly said toxicology test results on Picard were pending.
It was unclear whether Picard has an attorney.
