New Iberia Child Dead

A four year old in New Iberia is dead, and the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the child's death as a murder.
Detective Ashley Irby says around 12:45 this afternoon, deputies responded to 1123 Spencer Loop. The child was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead by the coroner. The detective does not yet know if the child is a boy or girl. KATC is waiting on the cause of death from the coroner.
