BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Construction has begun on a new fire station on Wooddale Avenue in Baton Rouge.
The Advocate reports that the new station will replace an existing one on Lobdell Avenue.
Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said the 8,400-square-foot station will cost about $2.3 million.
The Lobdell station was built in 1950 and was updated in 1988.
Architect for the Wooddale project is Grace and Hebert Architects. The contractor is Stuart and Co.
