A former Calcasieu Parish assistant district attorney has been indicted on charges of sexual battery and malfeasance in office.
The state Attorney General's Office says 63-year-old Ronnie Rossitto was indicted Thursday on charges stemming from an alleged January 2013 incident.
The Attorney General's statement says Rossitto is alleged to have inappropriately touched a man after offering to help him get his driver's license reinstated.
The statement says Rossitto resigned as an assistant district attorney in September 2013, before pleading guilty to obscenity charges in Orleans Parish for similar allegations.
Judge Robert Wyatt gave Rossitto until 5 p.m. Monday to turn himself in. Rossitto will enter a plea at a later arraignment.
Until his resignation last year, Rossito had served more than 30 years with the Calcasieu District Attorney's Office.
