New animal-rescue group created in Lafourche

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A 28-year-old Thibodaux woman has founded a new animal-rescue group in Lafourche Parish that she says will supplement the work of the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter.
Dani Morgan says through the group We Stand Bayou she hopes to find people to adopt pets and volunteers to foster animals and donate supplies and vet care.
According to Wednesday's Courier the group has four foster families, a half dozen more applicants, hundreds of Facebook friends and support and donations from all over the country and world. Morgan has applied for nonprofit status for the group.
