From the USDA: Community officials, police, fire, and emergency personnel were joined today by Congressman Charles Boustany and USDA Rural Development State Director Clarence W. Hawkins to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of a E-911 Emergency Response Center.
This E-911 Emergency Response Center was constructed to accommodate the St. Landry Parish Communications District’s emergency response workers. The District was previously housed in a smaller 2,000 square foot building that was very cramped. This new facility is over 7,000 square feet of enclosed space with offices, conference rooms, and work areas.
This facility was funded by a $2.31 million USDA Rural Development loan and $250,000 supplied by the St. Landry Parish Communications District.
“USDA Rural Development offers affordable financing to rural communities for development, improvement, and expansion of community facilities,” said Clarence W. Hawkins, USDA Rural Development State Director. “We are proud to be a part of this project.”
