NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police say a Navy chief petty officer stationed in Virginia has been arrested and faces charges in the fatal stabbing of his wife - possibly with a pen.
Officer Williams of the New Orleans police says a first-degree murder warrant accuses 43-year-old David Hugh Marx of killing 51-year-old Mary Lou Marx.
Williams says the Naval Criminal Investigative Service arrested David Marx in Norfolk, Va., on Friday, two days after his wife's body was found in their home on New Orleans' west bank.
She says he was to be brought to New Orleans. The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office website did not list him as an inmate Sunday.
The police department's major offense log states that Mary Lou Marx was stabbed in the chest and nose, possibly with a pen.
