Native Seedlings Offered at TreesAcadiana Annual Potting

This Saturday, Feb. 2, TreesAcadiana will be planting tree seedlings in pots and giving away bare- root seedlings at the Bayou Vermilion District (BVD), beginning at 8 a.m.

The variety of native seedlings include: crabapple, mayhaw, persimmon, bald cypress, black walnut, button bush, cedar elm, cherrybark oak, cow oak, green ash, live oak, nuttall oak obtusa oak, native sweet pecan, red mulberry, shumard oak, swamp post oak, sweetbay magnolia, tupelo gum, white oak, yellow tulip poplar. Members of TreesAcadiana will be on-site to offer planting tips and welcome volunteers to pot those seedlings that remain.
