Ragin' Cajuns head football coach Mark Hudspeth announced 27 new members to the University of Louisiana football team on Wednesday. UL inked 21 prospects to National Letters of Intent and had six additional student-athletes enroll in school for the Spring 2012 semester.

The players already on campus include; safeties Darius Barksdale (Ole Miss) and Will Burrowes (Mississippi Gulf Coast), linebackers Kevin Fouquier (Comeaux HS) and Ryan Mosby (Arizona Western), offensive lineman Terry Johnson (Northwest Mississippi CC) and wide receiver T.J. Worthy (Ole Miss)

This year's class features 17 prospects that hail from Louisiana and Mississippi. The Cajuns also picked up four prospects from Florida. UL brought in 15 defensive players after losing seven senior starters on the defensive side of the ball. The Cajuns also signed 10 offensive players and two athletes.

"I am very thrilled with this year's class," Hudspeth said. "This is a very deep group with a lot of athletes who can make a difference at the college level. I feel like we are taking things to the next level after a great signing class like the one we put together this year."

Some of the Cajuns high profile commitments include defensive lineman Jalen Fields (Georgia Military College), linebacker Delvin Jones (Coffeyville CC), quarterback Brooks Haack (Katy HS), linebacker Tyren Alexander (Breaux Bridge HS) and athlete Jalen Nixon (Carencro HS).

The Cajuns open spring practice on Feb. 28 and are slated to conclude spring practice with the annual spring game the weekend of March 30-31.
