ATLANTA - Health officials say the national birth rate continues to drop. Declines were seen in most age groups and for all races, with the rates for teens and women in their early 20s at the lowest point since record-keeping began in the 1940s. U.S. births have been dropping since hitting an all-time high in 2007. There were 4 million last year. Experts connect the downward trend to the weak economy.
