Growing up with two older brothers, I was most certainly tough and fearless. There was never a time when you would not see me run outside when a storm was on its way. Weather has fascinated me since as long as I can remember. I knew all along studying weather would be my passion in life, it lead me to Louisiana and now I am here to stay!
I am originally from Graham, North Carolina where I earned my degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in Atmospheric Sciences concentrating in Weather Forecasting. Along the way I picked up a minor in mathematics, any meteorologist will tell you about ALL the math. I am an active member of the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society. When I was in my early teenage years, I became PADI certified, and if you have never tried scuba diving before you should!
I did prior work as an intern at WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. This set me up for some experience in my field. My latest work was with WVLA in Baton Rouge last year (2010). Now, I am more than excited to get started here in Acadiana and experience all it has to offer.
Anything outdoors is fun; running, hiking, wakeboarding, playing with my pugs, enjoying the beach; really anything adventurous. If I get some quiet time I like to sit around with a good book.
I am thrilled about the new move to Lafayette and cannot wait to chow down on more Cajun food. It is the BEST!
