NEW ORLEANS (AP) - U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will address graduates of Southern University at New Orleans and receive an honorary degree at the school's commencement ceremony this weekend.

The Department of Homeland Security says Napolitano's speech Saturday will include remarks about the "remarkable strength and resilience of the entire New Orleans community."

A SUNO spokesman said Napolitano has made two previous visits to the campus, which sustained severe flood damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and was rebuilt with millions of dollars in federal funds.

SUNO will be awarding diplomas to 483 graduates during the ceremony at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
