NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans man has been indicted on
federal murder and carjacking charges in the fatal shootings of
three people in 2007.
A 10-count indictment unsealed Monday charges 25-year-old Steven
Earl Hardrick with gunning down Brett Jacobs, David Alford and
Howard Lee Pickens after a carjacking in eastern New Orleans on
Oct. 24, 2007. Hardrick also is charged with murdering a potential
witness to a federal crime in the death of Pickens.
U.S. Attorney Jim Letten said two other suspects already were
charged in the case before Hardrick's indictment.
Hardrick pleaded guilty to an unrelated firearms charge in
November 2008 and was serving a prison sentence when he was
indicted under seal last month.
