Parents who want to learn more about plans being discussed about the future of Myrtle Place Elementary can attend a meeting Tuesday afternoon. Recommendations from the Lafayette Parish School Board Language Immersion Task Force include turning the school into a French Immersion school. If the entire campus would become a French immersion school, students who aren't part of the program would attend school elsewhere.
Plans are not concrete and have only gotten as far as the task force presenting its plans to the school board. The meeting will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Myrtle Place Elementary.
