Musician Guidry Named to Acadian Order of Living Legends

The Acadian Museum will soon induct a new member to its Order of Living Legends. Musician Mary Lou Guidry will be honored during a December 15 ceremony at the Erath museum. Guidry has performed with several local bands since 1987, including her husband's Nonc Jules & Laches-Les Band. In 1996, she was nominated for Best Female Vocalist award by the Cajun French Music Association. In addition to her musical endeavors, Guidry is known for teaching Cajun dance, ragdoll workshops, jewelry making, and other classes at Vermilionville.
