UL's new project, Museum on the Move!, has opened its inaugural exhibit, "Crossing the Line: Louisiana Women in a Century of Change". The exhibit features ten Louisiana women who did extraordinary things in the fields of environmentalism, politics, professions, and equality movements.
Museum on the Move! is UL Department of History and Geography's newest project. Each year graduate students will develop and install a new exhibit in a renovated 1954 Airstream trailer, which will serve as a mobile museum.
The exhibit, open tonight at the UL Alumni House, features Kathleen Blanco, Lindy Boggs, Caroline Dormon, Oretha Castle Haley, Georgia M. Johnson, Eliza Nicholson, Ollie Tucker Osborne, Sarah Towles Reed, Rowena Spencer and Wilma Subra.
