The man charged with an October murder in Downtown Lafayette is back behind bars on a warrant stemming from a 2011 bar fight. Kyle Toups was wanted for aggravated battery in connection with a fight at Dodge's Ice House in Cankton. St. Landry Parish sheriff's deputies say by the time they arrived, Toups had already left the scene. According to officials in the sheriff's office, the warrant was not issued until this past November after he was identified by eyewitnesses.

Toups faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the October stabbing death of Michael Luke Darby of Eunice.
