A mother and son were arrested and charged with burglarizing the same home twice.
Brandon Michael Collier, 17 years of age, of Morgan City; and his mother, Tina Marie Collier, 47, of New Iberia were arrested on June 10, 2013 as a result of an investigation into a residential burglary in Morgan City.
According to a Morgan City arrest report, a home on Sixth Street was burglarized on May 17, 2013. The same residence, was reportedly burglarized a second time on June 9, 2013. Both incidents were turned over to Morgan City Detectives to investigate.
The victim provided information to detectives that allowed detectives to identify Brandon Collier and his mother, Tina Collier as suspects.
Both Brandon Collier and Tina Collier were questioned by detectives and allegedly admitted to their involvement in the two burglaries.
On May 17, 2013, Brandon Michael Collier allegedly committed the burglary of the Sixth Street residence and removed items from within the residence. On June 9, 2013 Tina Collier and allegedly removed additional items.
Brandon Michael Collier was booked on the charges of: Simple Burglary and Possession of Stolen Things. He remains incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail awaiting bond. Tina Marie Collier was booked on the charges of: Simple Burglary. She was booked into the Morgan City Jail, then transported to the Parish Jail where she remains incarcerated.
