A mother has filed a report with the Lafayette police department after she says a substitute teacher at J.W. Faulk pulled her daughter out of her chair.
J.W. Faulk's principal says the substitute is a certified teacher. She is filling in for the art teacher who will be out until January. 11 year old Kolya Shelvin says the teacher grabbed her and told her to move because she was sitting in the wrong seat. The mother says even though no marks were left on her daughters arm she still filed a police report. "My point was why not just ask her to get up instead of pulling on her because she's not a child that cuts up in class. She makes good grades and you know she was absent for two days and didn't know the seating arrangement had been changed," said Mother Kirsten Shelvin.
Police say the case is still under investigation. if found out to be true, the sub could face misdemeanor simple battery charges.
