Mother charged with OWI and accused of leaving children home alone

A Eunice mother charged with OWI is accused of leaving her children home alone overnight. Amanda Faulkner is still in jail after her arrest on Thursday, May 3. Police stopped her at 2:31 a.m. and her blood alcohol level was .157%, according to Deputy Chief Varden Guillory.

At 4:43, more than two hours later, she called her husband from the police station. He was at work, and she told him their children, ages 1 and 7, were home alone, said Guillory. "Officers overheard this conversation and responded to her residence and found the door unsecured and entered." Faulkner is charged with Careless Operation, Disturbing the Peace, and DWI 1st offense, and 2 counts of child endangerment.
