Around Acadiana

Most of Acadiana returning to school Friday

Most of Acadiana will be back in school tomorrow.

Lafayette, St. Martin, and Evangeline Parish public schools will return to class tomorrow after missing the last three days because of the recent ice storm.

However, some students in St. Martin Parish will not return to school until next week.

Superintendent Lottie Beebe says the students at the schools in Cecilia--Cecilia Primary, Teche Elementary, Cecilia Junior High, and Cecilia High--will once again be out of class tomorrow because of low water pressure in the community.

St. Landry Parish principals we spoke to say they assume schools will be open tomorrow, but they have not received any official word. We're still waiting on a call back from the superintendent as of news time. The website only mentions the Thursday closure, but it says nothing about Friday.
