A teacher at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff has been arrested, accused of having inappropriate contact with a female student.
Troopers say they were tipped off by the girl's parents and during the interview, the girl confirmed she was in a sexual relationship with the teacher.
Text messages between the girl and the teacher, 37-year-old Lance Duhon of Lake Charles, allegedly contained explicit sexual content and were indicative of a sexual relationship between the two of them.
On April 12, 2013, investigators met with Duhon. Troopers say during the interview, Duhon admitted to inappropriate contact with the girl.
Troopers arrested Duhon on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile as well as prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student. Duhon was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $11,000.
If convicted of both charges, Duhon faces up to a $6,000 fine and up to 7 ½ years in prison.
