Moss Bluff man accused of 4th offense DWI

A 24-year-old Moss Bluff man is accused of 4th offense DWI.

On Wednesday at 10:35 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a car near the intersection of Highway 171 and Parish Road in Moss Bluff for a traffic violation, according to deputies.

When deputies approached the car and spoke with the driver, Christopher J. Daniels, they detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, according to deputies. Daniels was allegedly driving while under suspension for a prior DWI conviction.

Deputies say, Daniels performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test and was arrested and transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. A breath intoxilyzer test concluded Daniels was over the limit, stated deputies.

Daniels, who has 3 prior DWI arrests since 2011, was charged with DWI 4th; driving under suspension for prior DWI; and Open Container.

Bond is still pending.
