The following persons were arrested during the last reporting period beginning 07/22/2013:
Charges: Resisting an Officer, Warrant-Speeding, Warrant-Failure to Appear for Arraignment, Warrants for St. Mary for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Abuse of Toxic Vapors, and Unlawful use of a Driver's License.
Officers received a call in regards to two suspicious subjects in the area of Hilda Street. Officers arrived and received a description of two male subjects walking the street causing a disturbance. Officers located the two at a residence located on Maple Street and identified them.
One subject, later identified as Lee Paul Pierce provided officers with false information regarding his identity. Upon further investigation and
after discovering the subjects true name, officers discovered that the subject, Lee Paul Pierce was a wanted person with the City Court of Morgan City on outstanding warrants. The subject, Pierce was also found to be wanted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department on warrants and was additionally charged. He was booked into the Morgan City Jail then transferred to the LEC in Centerville.
Charges: Child Desertion.
Officers received a call in regards to a small child being left unattended in a parked vehicle at a local lounge. Officers arrived and discovered a
small child, 5 years of age inside the vehicle. The vehicle was not running and although the windows were down, the child was found sweating. Officers located the mother, identified as Trisha Danessa Grogan inside the lounge playing video poker. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the Subject, Grogan had left the child unattended inside the vehicle while inside the lounge for approximately an hour. The subject, Grogan was arrested, and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
Charges: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle; Contributing to the Deliquency of a Juvenile.
Raven Mayon, 17 years of age, Address-Lakewood Dr. Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 07/23/2013 @ 12:58am
Possession of Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Patrolling officers observed a vehicle being driving in a reckless manner near the intersection of Sixth Street and Hickory Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered that the vehicle contained four subjects, two being juveniles, age 15 and 16. During the investigation, officers located suspected synthetic marijuana inside the vehicle. Officers determined through questioning that the suspected synthetic marijuana belonged to and was in the possession of Raven Mayon, a passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Austin Stevens was arrested for the traffic violation and
contributing to the delinquency of the juvenile passengers. The passenger, Raven Mayon was arrested for the charges listed. Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department and incarcerated.
Charges: Warrant: Failure to Appear for Disturbing The Peace by Fighting.
Officers of the Morgan City Police Department, aware of an outstanding warrant for the above subject, located him at his residence. Hickman was Advised of the pending warrant, arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and release on a cash bond.
