The Following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 07/02/2014
1. Sabrina Voisin, 30 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/02/2014
Charge: Warrant- Theft of Goods Value $32.00
Upon learning of the Warrant for her arrest, Voisin came to the Morgan City Police Department and turned herself in to be booked. According to the Warrant it is alledged that Voisin committed a theft of clothing from a local drug store.
Voisin was booked and incarcerated.
2. Andrea Johnson, 36 years of age, Address-Gray La. was arrested on 07/02/2014 5:54PM
Charge: Theft of Goods
Morgan City Police were dispatched to a local Supermarket in reference to a theft. Upon arrival Officers spoke to management and they advised that Johnson was observed placing items into her purse. Management confronted her and found that she had various food items valued at $10.78. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
3. Tracy Silvia, 49 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/02/2014 @ 8:17PM
Charge: Warrant- Failure to Comply with Conditions of Drug Court
Morgan City Police were dispatched to the area of Halsey St. in regards to a complaint. Upon arrival officers came into contact with Silvia, during the course of the investigation it was found that Silvia was wanted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office on a Warrant. Silvia was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
4. Robert Parker, 33 years of age, Address- Berwick, La. was arrested on 07/02/2014 @ 9:32Pm
Charges: Warrant for Probation Violation, Warrant- Failure to Appear to Pay Probation Fees
Parker was transferred from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to be booked on outstanding warrants for this Department. Parker was booked and incarcerated.
5. Francisco Garces, 25 years of age, Address: Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/03/2014 @ 1:37am
Charges: Two Tail Lamps Required, Driving Under Suspension, Switched License Plate, Possession of Cocaine
While on Patrol in the area of Hwy 182 and Duke St. Morgan City Police observed a vehicle being driven east on Hwy 182 with only one tail light. Morgan City Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and came into contact with Garces. During the course of the investigation it was found that he was driving with a suspended drivers license and the officer also learned that the license plate that was displayed on the vehicle was switched. Garces was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, officers were inventorying Garces personal property and discovered a clear baggie with a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine . A presumptive test was conducted which yielded a positive result for cocaine. Garces was additionally charged.
