The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 06/11/2014:
1. Malichi Spalding , 19 years of age, Address- Patterson, La. was arrested on 06/11/2014 @ 5:52PM
Charge: Theft of Goods (Value $6.49)
Morgan City Police were dispatched to a local Hardware store in regards to a theft. During the investigation, officers were able to review video footage where Spalding was identified. Spalding was located and questioned in regards to the left at which time he admitted to stealing a pack of batteries valued at $6.49. Spalding was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
2. Steven Riddle, 27 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 06/11/2014 @ 9:49pm
Charge: Possession of Marijuana
While on patrol, officers came into contact with Riddle on Veteran's Blvd. Officers observed that the subject became really nervous as he spoke to them. Officers conducted a pat down on Riddle and located a clear cellophane baggie that contained a green vegetable matter believed to be marijuana. Riddle was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
3. Sheila Johnson , 40 year of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/12/2014 @12:14am
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
4. Keveshia Johnson, 17 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/12/2014 @ 12:14am
Charge: Aggravated Second Degree Battery
Officers of the Morgan City Police Department were dispatched to Mallard St. in Morgan City in regards to disturbance involving a knife. Upon officers arrival they located a female victim that had a large laceration on her facial area. During the investigation it was found that Sheila Johnson was involved in a disturbance with the victim. Sheila who officers determined was intoxicated returned to her residence where she and Keveshia confronted the victim again, at which time Keveshia became involved in a fight with the victim and produced a knife and cut the victim in the facial area. Keveshia and Sheila Johnson were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. The victim was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released
