Morgan City Daily Arrest Report

The Following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 04/17/2014:

1. Terry Vaughn II, 42 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/17/2014 @ 10:55AM

Charge: Warrant for Simple Battery

Terry Vaughn came to the Morgan City Police Department and turned himself in on the above warrant. Warrant was filed on 04/05/2014 for an incident in which Vaughn struck another subject. Vaughn was booked and incarcerated.

2. Veronica Sanders, 47 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/17/2014 @ 7:48PM

Charge: Contempt of Court in Lasalle Parish

Morgan City Police Department received information that Sanders was at Teche Regional Medical Center and that Lasalle Parish Sheriffs Office held warrants for her arrest. Officers went to Teche Regional Medical Center where they made contact with Veronica Sanders and the warrant was confirmed. Veronica Sanders was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated awaiting transfer to Lasalle Parish.

3. Hope Chettiyar, 35 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La., was arrested on 04/18/2014 @ 11:00AM


Charge- Warrant for Contempt of Court/ Failure to Pay Probation Fee.

Hope Chettiyar turned herself in on the above warrant. Hope was booked and incarcerated and later released after posting of a $500 cash bond.

4. Carlos Pichs-Franco, 42 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/18/2014 @ 12:46PM
Charges: Warrant for Failure to Return Leased Merchandise, No Proof of Insurance, Driving Under Suspension:

Morgan City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 182 @ Grizzaffi St. Upon making contact with the driver it was determined that he was driving under suspension and he also did not have valid proof of insurance on the vehicle. Upon further investigation it was also found that he was a wanted subject through this department. Carlos Pichs-Franco was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated and later released on a $914.00 bond.
According to the Warrant and Affidavit Carlos failed to return leased merchandise to a local cable company upon termination of his lease.

5. Eric Harvey, 30 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/18/2014 @ 10:22PM
Charge: Failure to Appear for Driving Under Suspension

Morgan City Police Department was advised that Eric Harvey was arrested in Patterson La on the above warrant.

Morgan City Police then traveled to the Patterson Police Department where they took custody of Eric Harvey. Subject was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

6. Alfred Francois, 49 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 07:11am


Charges: Failure to Appear for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated, 2 counts of Failure to Appear to Pay Fines
And a Warrant for Drug Court Violation

Morgan City Police Department went to an address in the 600 Block of Duke St where they came into contact with Alfred Francois. A locals check was done and it was confirmed that Alfred was wanted through this department along with the St.Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Francois was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.


7. Tris Matthews, 47 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 7:06 Am
Charges: Warrant for Probation Violation, Warrant for Failure to appear to pay Probation Fees

Morgan City Police Department went to an Address in the 300 Blk of South Railroad in an attempt to locate Tris Matthews on outstanding warrants for his arrest. Upon arrival officers located Matthews where he was placed under arrest and he was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.



8. Mariah Cook, 23 years of age, Address-Morgan City La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 08:22am
Charges: Warrant- Theft Over $500

Officers went to an address in the 300 Blk of Wise St in an attempt to locate Mariah Cook on outstanding Felony Warrants. Upon arrival Officers located Mariah at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
According to the warrant and Affidavit Morgan City Police Department Detective Division began an investigation into a theft of monies from a local grocery store in December 0f 2013. During the course of the investigation it was found that Mariah Cook committed a theft of monies that valued $616.00 in cash.


9. Tanisha Wilkerson, 38 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 1:48PM
Charges: Resisting an Officer, Theft of Goods(Valued $187.58) and a Warrant for Probation Violation

Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to Rouses Supermarket in regards to a shoplifter. Upon arrival officers spoke to management and they advised that upon confronting the suspect, she dropped her bag and took off running. A description of the black female was given to officers. Officers searched the area and came into contact with a female matching the description given by store employees. Upon trying to speak to the female, she ran from officers. Officers chased and caught the female in the area of the 1200 Blk of Victor II Blvd. Female was secured and transported back to Rouses Supermarket at which time she was positively identified by the Management. Officers were made aware that Tanisha attempted to leave the store with 14 packs of Crawfish tails and one box of Shrimp, valued at $187.58. Tanisha was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. Upon booking it was found that Tanisha was wanted by this department for a Warrant for Probation Violation. Therefore she was additionally charged.


10. Kedesha Scott, 19 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 7:25pm
Charges: Theft over $500, Two Counts of Theft under $500 and Simple Criminal damage to Property

Officers were dispatched to the 200 Block of Halsey St in regards to a theft. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant and they advised that Kedesha Scott was visiting at the residence. Upon her leaving they noticed that several items were missing. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Kedesha Scott stole two Cell phones and a wallet from the residence. Officers located Kedesha walking in the area. Upon speaking to her some of the items that were stolen were located on her person. She was transported back to the residence where she was positively identified by the victims. A search of the area was done at which time officers located one of the cell phones that were stolen by Kedesha that had the damage to the screen on the phone. Kedesha was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

11. Shaquita Thomas, 24 years of age, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/19/2014 @ 9:57pm
Charges: Improper Lighting and Driving Under Suspension

Morgan City Police observed a vehicle traveling on Hwy 182 near Eleventh St. with improper lighting on the vehicle. Officer conducted a traffic stop and came into contact with the driver Shaquita Thomas. During the stop it was found that Shaquita was driving under suspension. Shaquita was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated and later released on a $447.00 bond.

12. Michael Falgout, 28 years of Age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/20/2014 @ 00:07am


Charges: Remaining where Forbidden, Warrant- Violation of a Protective Order

Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to the Holiday Inn in regards to removal of a subject. Upon officers arrival they spoke to the security guard on duty at which time they advised officers that Mike Falgout was removed from the bar but the subject kept returning back inside. Officers made contact with Falgout and they detected that he was highly intoxicated. A warrants check was done and it was found that Falgout was wanted through this department for Violation of a Protective Order. Falgout was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

13. Donna Reed, 43 years of age, Address- Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/20/2014 @ 01:20AM

Charge: Theft by Shoplifting

Officers of the Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to Walgreens in regards to a shoplifter. Upon arrival officers spoke to the Manager and it was found that Donna Reed was observed removing tags from items in the store and stuffing them in her purse. Management confronted her and called for Officers. Officers found that Reed had several items that were stolen from the store that valued $199.98. Reed was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department and incarcerated.
