Morgan City Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the holiday reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 163 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Sky Leger, 32, 7901 Jackie Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on February 14, 2014 at 10:25 am on the following charges:
- Warrant for simple burglary (felony)
- Warrant for simple burglary (felony)
- Warrant for principal to simple burglary (felony)
- Warrant for principal to simple burglary (felony)
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of Schedule I, abuse of toxic vapors, and possession of drug paraphernalia
A deputy transported Leger from the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. The warrants for burglary stem from an investigation into business burglaries that occurred at businesses in Calumet and the surrounding area in September of 2013. Bond is set at $205,000.

Saviye Howard, 23, 503 Marigny Circle, Lafayette, LA was arrested on February 14, 2014 at 10:25 am for failure to appear on the charge issuing worthless checks. A deputy transported Howard from the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. She was released on a $2,500 bond.

Carly Arcemont, 37, 280 Cane Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 14, 2014 at 2:06 pm for violation of the parish leash law. Arcemont was issued a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014.

Chad Wiggins, Jr., 21, 115 Tina Street, Houma, LA was arrested on February 15, 2014 at 2:12 am for hit and run driving and driving while intoxicated. While conducting an investigation into a separate case on Southeast Boulevard near Belleview Street, a deputy heard the sound of screeching tires followed by a loud boom from the direction of Middle Road. The deputy observed a small cloud of smoke and a vehicle that appeared to be driving over a large object. The deputy ordered the vehicle to stop and made contact with the driver identified as Wiggins. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Wiggins' breath and person. Wiggins performed poorly on the field sobriety test and registered a 0.215g% on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. Further investigation revealed that Wiggins struck a light pole on Southeast Boulevard near Middle Road. Wiggins was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration and was later released on a $10,000 bond.

Cecil E. Wiltia, 21, 512 Raintree Trail, Lafayette, LA was arrested on February 15, 2014 at 3:51 am for reckless operation and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Highway 90 area in Jeanerette recorded a vehicle travelling over 95 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Wiltia, who was also found to be driving with a suspended license. Wiltia was released on a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014.

Lawrence Edwards, IV, 25, 1509 Live Oak Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 15, 2014 at 6:27 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Edwards, who turned himself in on drug court sanctions at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, was booked on the additional warrant. Edwards was released on $349.50 bail.

Renee A. Tabor, 38, 1569 Highway 317, Centerville, LA was arrested on February 16, 2014 at 12:57 am for driving while intoxicated and disturbing the peace. A deputy received information regarding a vehicle with a possibly intoxicated subject at the wheel. The deputy saw the suspect vehicle pull into a business on Highway 317 and watched a female subject exit the vehicle on the driver's side and enter the business. Upon making contact with the female subject, the deputy smelled the strong odor of alcohol on her breath and person. The subject was identified as Tabor. During the course of the investigation, Tabor repeatedly yelled profanities in public causing a disturbance. Tabor performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a 0.163g% on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Tabor was released on a $3,000 bond.

Jameon J. Jack, 31, 1707 West Ibert Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 16, 2014 at 10:34 pm for reckless operation, driving under suspension, and no insurance. A deputy responded to a report of a crash on Prairie Road in Franklin. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Jack was travelling in the opposing lane of traffic forcing a second vehicle to drive off the roadway and into a ditch. Jack was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $1,750.

Justin M. Batiste, 29, 831 South Market Street, Opelousas, LA was arrested on February 16, 2014 at 9:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding and warrants from St. Landry Parish for failure to appear on the charges of purchasing alcohol for a person under 21, monetary instrument abuse, theft (4 counts), and theft consolidated with felony charges. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area recorded a vehicle travelling at 40 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Batiste, who was also driving under suspension and held active warrants for his arrest. Batiste was issued a citation for speeding and driving under suspension. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration on the warrants. Batiste was transferred to another jurisdiction.

Theresa Skinner, 54, 304 John Edward Lane, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 1:21 am for aggravated assault (2 counts), unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and obstruction of justice. A deputy responding to a complaint of an aggravated assault made contact with Skinner. After speaking with witnesses, the deputy determined that Skinner used a knife to enter a home in Siracusaville and threatened a male and a female victim with the weapon. The deputy located the knife inside the vehicle in which Skinner arrived at the home. During her arrest, Skinner repeatedly yelled and pulled away from the deputy. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Skinner was released on a $15,250 bond.

Randy Dewitt, 21, 124 Kellers Lane, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 11:36 am for criminal trespass and theft of copper or other metals.

Sean Hulin, 17, 251 Shannon Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 11:36 am for criminal trespass and theft of copper or other metals.

A deputy responded to a complaint of trespassing at a residence on Ricohoc Drive. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from a witness that two male subjects were seen taking air conditioning coils from the property. Using information provided by the witness, the deputy continued the investigation at a local scrap yard. The deputy then made contact with Hulin and Dewitt at Hulin's residence on Shannon Street. Hulin and Dewitt were positively identified as the two subjects who took the coils and sold them for scrap. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bail is set for Dewitt at $2,500. Bail is set at $2,000 for Hulin.

Jerry Landerman, 45, 125 Shannon Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 11:42 am on a warrant from St. Martin Parish for failure to appear on multiple drug charges. A deputy conducting an investigation into a report of trespassing (see two arrests above) made contact with Landerman and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Landerman was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was later transferred to another jurisdiction.

Barry L. Jones, 26, 333 Egle Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm for domestic abuse battery.

Stephanie Harvey, 35, 333 Egle Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on James Street in Siracusaville. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Jones and Harvey were in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical encounter. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Tessa Pilgrim, 35, 126 Elaine Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 3:06 pm for theft of goods and on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy was told by store personnel that Pilgrim was seen taking a backpack from a shelf, removing its tags, and concealing items inside the bag before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Pilgrim also held an active warrant for her arrest. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Pilgrim was issued a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014 on the theft of goods charge. No bond is set on the warrant.

Waynisha D. Jones, 28, 1011 Ramos Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy investigating an unrelated complaint in Siracusaville, made contact with Jones and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Jones was released on a $5,000 bond.

Chad Williams, 25, 123 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 7:03 pm on warrants for issuing worthless checks and failure to appear on the charges of stop sign violation, and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license. Williams was transported from Berwick Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bond is set.

Kacy Norman, 28, 32665 Bayou Sorrel Road, Plaquemine, LA was arrested on February 17, 2014 at 12:19 pm for driving on divided highways, possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 2nd offense, possession of Schedule III (hydrocodone), and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy assigned to the Ricohoc area observed a vehicle make an illegal u-turn by crossing the raised median on Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Norman. While speaking with her, the deputy smelled the odor of burning marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located several pieces of burnt marijuana cigarettes and a hydrocodone pill. Norman was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Steven Fucich, 20, 10612 Limu Way, Diamondhead, MS was arrested on February 18, 2014 at 2:45 am for theft, disturbing the peace (intoxicated), and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft from a store in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that a male subject took a six pack of beer without paying for it. Using a description provided by the complainant, another deputy located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy found the beer inside the vehicle. One of the alcoholic beverages was opened. Fucich was positively identified as the subject who stole the beer. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $2,000 bond.
