The Following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/31/2013:
1. Alvaro Bolanos-Franco, 35 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/31/3013 @ 3:29pm
Charge: Carless Operation with an Accident; No Driver's License
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Brashear Ave and Seventh St. in regards to a vehicle Accident. Upon the officer gathering information for a crash report it was found that the driver Alvaro Bolanos-Franco had struck a vehicle in the rear and he did not have a valid driver's license. Bolanos-Franco was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
2. Appalaraju Allipilli, 37 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/31/2013 @ 9:15pm
Charge: First Degree Vehicle Negligent Injuring, and Driving while Intoxicated (2nd Offense)
Morgan City Police were dispatched to Egle St. in regards to a vehicle accident involving a Pedestrian. Upon arrival officers located a male subject lying on the ground that appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The male subject was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment. Upon investigating the crash, Officers determined that Appalaraju Allipilli was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. Upon speaking to the driver it was found that Allipilli was attempting to back up from a private drive and in doing so struck a pedestrian that was walking. During the course of speaking to Allipilli officers detected that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Allipilli was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer test in which he was found to have a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .21 grams%. Allipilli was then booked and incarcerated on the above charges. The Pedestrian was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from Teche Regional Medical Center.
3. Deondray Thomas, 25 years of age, Address-Lena St. Lafayette, La, was arrested on 01/01/2014 @04:34am
Charge: Improper Lane Usage, Expired Driver's License, Open Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana(1st offense)
4. Andrew Watson, 21 years of age, Address-Lena St., Lafayette, La. was arrested on 01/01/2014 @5:07am
Charge: Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana(1st Offense)
5. Paris Bias, 22 years of age, Address-Steinberg Dr., Lafayette, La. was arrested on 01/01/2014 @ 5:07am
Charge: Possession of Schedule IV Alprazolam With Out a Prescription, Possession of a Schedule IV Carisoprodol With Out a Prescription
6. Lakesha Leon, 22 years of age, Address- Bridge St, St. Martinville, La. was arrested on 01/01/2014 @ 5:07am
Charge: Possession of an open alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Schedule IV Alprazolam With Out a Prescription, Possession of a Schedule IV Carisoprodol With Out a Prescription
Officers of the Morgan City Police Department conducted a traffic stop at Ditch Ave and La. Hwy 182 for a vehicle that was operating irratically. Upon speaking to the driver Deondray Thomas it was found that his drivers license was expired. During the course of the investigation officers detected an odor of burning marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and upon receiving consent to search officers located an open container of an alcoholic beverage in side of the vehicle along with suspected marijuana in the front seat where Thomas and Watson were located. Upon the rear seat passengers exiting the vehicle officers noticed that Leon had an open alcoholic vehicle in the rear seat next to her . During the search of the rear of the vehicle officers located Schedule IV Narcotics which consisted of Alprazolam and Carisporodol which both Bias and Leon did not have a legal prescription to obtain. At that time all Four Occupants were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were all booked and incarcerated.
7. Jayme Wininger, 17 Years of age, Address-Louisa St., Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/01/2014 @ 2:12pm
Charge-Aggravated Battery with a dangerous weapon
Morgan City Police were dispatched to Teche Regional Medical Center in regards to a subject there being treated for a stab wound. Upon officers arrival they spoke to the victim at which time he advised that he was a friends house playing cards. Subject advised that during the card game he jokingly slapped another person at the residence on the stomach area. Subject advised that it was then that the person that he slapped produced a knife and stabbed him in the chest. The victim then left and went to Teche Regional for treatment. Officers then went and began to speak to the witnesses at the residence. During the course of the investigation they were given the same statements as from the victim. Wininger was located and advised of his rights per Miranda at which time he advised officers that he was showing his knife to the persons at the residence when he was slapped in the stomach by the victim and it was then that he stabbed the victim. Wininger was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
The victim was treated and released with no life threatening wounds.
8. Hugo Ramirez, 35 years of age, Address-Levee Road, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/01/2014 @ 7:27pm
Charge-Driving Under Suspension, No Insurance and a Warrant for Failure to appear to pay fine for Simple Battery
While on patrol a Morgan City Police Officer observed Hugo Ramirez operating a vehicle on Hwy 182 in Morgan City. A traffic stop was conducted do to the officer knowing that Ramirez had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Upon speaking to Ramirez it was also found that he was driving with a suspended driver's license and that he did not have any insurance on the vehicle he was operating. Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
