The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 01/08/2014:
1. Jerrie McNemar, 43 years of age, Address Hwy 182 West, Morgan City, La was arrested on 01/08/2014 @ 6:18pm.
Charge: Simple Battery
Morgan City Police were dispatched to Teche Regional Medical Center in reference to a Simple Battery. Officers spoke to the victim and they advised that they were at a residence on Cottonwood St. when a disturbance started and led to the victim being struck in the facial area. Officers went and located McNemar where she was advised of her rights per Miranda at which time she admitted to striking the victim. McNemar was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
2. David Aucoin, 36 years of age, Address-Second St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/08/2014 @ 7:54pm.
Charges: Failure to Use Turn Signal; Possession of Schedule IV CDS without a Prescription; Obstruction of Justice
While on patrol in the area of Second and Greenwood St., Morgan City Police observed a vehicle make a right hand turn without using a turn signal. Morgan City Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver Aucoin. Officers noticed that Aucoin was very nervous when speaking to them. During the stop Aucoin admitted to officers that he had headache pills in his pocket and in the vehicle he was driving. Upon further investigation officers located Alprazolam inside of the vehicle that Aucoin admitted was his, and that he did not have a prescription for it. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. While Aucoin was being booked, officers noticed that he began to get disoriented and at one point fell to the ground. Officers spoke to Aucoin and he advised them that upon being stopped he had consumed several pills and that he was unsure of how many and what kind. Aucoin was then transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where he was treated by medical personelle. Upon completion of the treatment, Aucoin was then transported back to the Jail Facility where he was incarcerated with no bond set.
