The following was issued by Morgan City Police
1. Alyssa Ashmore, 23 years of age, Address-Chester Bowles Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 08/28/2013 @ 12:29am.
Charges: Warrant: Driving Under Suspension
Officers investigating a disturbance in the Brownell Homes area came into contact with Alyssa Ashmore. Officers discovered that Ashmore was wanted by the Morgan City Police Department on an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $500.00.
2. Thomas H. Jones, 54 years of age, Address-St. Claire Street Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 08/28/2013 @ 8:19am
Charges: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Suspended Drivers License; No Insurance; Traffic Control Signal
Hold for Hinds County Mississippi-Warrant: Gratification
A Morgan City Police Officer was patrolling the Highway 182 area near Myrtle Street when they observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The officer stopped the vehicle and came into contact with the driver, identified as Thomas Jones. Jones exhibited signs of impairment. He could not produce a valid driver's
license which was later found to be suspended.
He also could not provide officers with motor vehicle insurance. He submitted to a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on. Thomas Jones was also found to be a wanted person from Hinds County Sheriff's Department in Jackson, Mississippi . He was arrested, cuffed and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where
he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test with the
results indicating .091g% BAC. Hinds County was contacted and advised of the subjects detention. They stated they would extradite the subject back to Hinds County once extradition proceedings were complete. The subject was booked and incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Departments Jail facility.
3. Dontrell Daniel Carter, 29 years of age, Address-First Street Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 08/28/2013 @ 8:19am
Charges: Warrant: Thibodaux Police Department-Contempt of Court; Warrant: Lafourche Parish-Contempt of Court
Officers patrolling the Highway 182 area near Martin Luther King Blvd. detained a vehicle in which Carter was a passenger. Upon an officer checking through headquarters, it was discovered that Carter was wanted by two different agencies in Lafourche Parish for outstanding warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for Incarceration until such time as he could be transferred to Lafourche Parish authorities.
4. James Kendell Brown, 20 years of age, Address-Duke Street Morgan City, Louisiana was arrested on 08/28/2013 @ 9:26pm
Charges: Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile
Officers were dispatched to a residence located on Duke Street in regards to locating a wanted person. As officers approached, they saw several subjects sitting inside a vehicle parked at a Duke Street residence. As officers approached, the subjects attempted to run. Two of the subjects were apprehended and found to be in
Possession of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia.
One subject, James Kendall Brown, 20 years of age was found to be in the accompany of a male juvenile who was also apprehended.
Both subjects, Brown and the juvenile were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. James Brown remains incarcerated. The juvenile was released to family members pending court proceedings.
5. Rorr K. Beasley, 34 years of age, Address-Gray, Louisiana was arrested on 08/29/2013 @ 12:13am
Charges: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated 3rd Offense; Improper Lane Usage; Ignition Interlock Device Offense
An officer patrolling the Highway 182 area near Cottonwood Street observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The officer stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, Rorr Beasley. The officer checked Mr. Beasley's drivers license and found it to be a restricted drivers license. Beasley could only operate a vehicle with an
Ignition Interlock device. His vehicle was not equipped with the device. Mr. Beasley exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test in which he failed. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to
an Intoxilyzer 5000 test. Those results indicated
a .106g% BAC. Beasley was found to have been convicted of two prior offenses. He was charged accordingly and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail with no bond yet set.
6. Richard Leroy Barrick Jr., 59 years of age, Address-Field Street Morgan City Louisiana was arrested on 08/29/2013 @ 12:47am
Charges: Unauthorized Entry into an Inhabited Dwelling; Criminal Damage to Property
Officers received a complaint at a Brownell Homes address alleging a residential burglary. Officers arrived to investigate and during the investigation, it was learned that the victim's estranged husband, Richard Barrick Jr. had forced his way into the residence and began to damage property inside the residence. Officers began their search for Richard Leroy Barrick Jr. and were able to locate the subject at a residence located on Halsey Street and Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. The subject Barrick was advised of his Miranda Rights and admitted to officers of the event. He was arrested and transported to the
Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated with no bond yet set.
7. Jeffrey Baline Lodrique, 22 years of age, Address-Second Street Berwick, Louisiana was arrested on 08/29/2013 @ 4:03am Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense; Drug Paraphernalia; Hold for St. Mary Sheriff's Department for Possession of Marijuana Officers of the Morgan City Police Department were dispatched to Solar
Apartments in reference to locating a subject on an outstanding warrant for St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department. Officers located the subject, and also located in his possession suspected marijuana and
paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
